The 8th EEFA Annual Conference took place on October 28-31 2008 in Zagreb, Croatia. The beautiful Regent Esplanade Grand Hotel hosted 70 conference delegates from 25 countries. The excellent content of presentations, wonderful weather and the beauty of the city of Zagreb contributed as well to the success of the 8th EEFA conference. The Board of the East European Factoring Association has unanimously accepted “Factor-company “ENERGY” as a new member of EEFA. Based in Saint-Petersburg, “Factor-company “ENERGY” was established in 1998 and now is one of the leading players of the Russian factoring market. Elections of the President of the Association were held as the term of Mikhail Treyvish’s office has expired. Mr. Treyvish was unanimously reelected by the members of the East European Factoring Association to be the President of the Association.
On March 30, 2005 IF-Group East European Chapter held its first internet-conference with the headline "Development of factoring business in CIS countries".
The conference went off in Russian and its main respondents were Mikhail Treyvish, President, IF-Group East European Chapter, CEO, NFC Uralsib-NIKoil and Corneliu Robu, Member of Legal Committee, IF-Group, International Department Director, NFC Uralsib-NIKoil. This event precedes the first educational seminar to be organized by the Chapter with the title "First steps in factoring business" that will be held in Moscow on May 20, 2005.
At the International Factors Group Annual Meeting in Beijing, China (October 17-20, 2004), the president of the East European Factoring Association Mikhail Treyvish was elected on the Board of IFG. He will be also the head of the East European Chapter of IFG.
The International Factors Group was founded in the 1960s as an association of factoring companies handling cross-border transactions. The organisation now comprises Members and Partners in more than 30 countries, all working together to offer factoring as a truly worldwide financial service to every IF-Group client.
The former head of the largest Swiss factoring company Factors AG Hans-Peter Kellenberger thinks that it is very important for the further development of the group also in view of the rapidly growing importance of the region Mikhail Treyvish represents. It will help to intensify the efforts to quickly implement the very promising new strategy of IFG.
Elections of the President of the Association were held as the term of Mikhail Treyvish’s office has expired. Mr. Treyvish was unanimously reelected by the members of the East European Factoring Association to be the President of the Association till 2006.
In June and July Association organized a training for the Members staff in NIKoil Factoring Division. Directors of Factoring Divisions of Conversebank and Moldinkonbank Caren Gyulgyulyan and Oleg Damian participated in a two-days training program developed by I.B.G. NIKoil Bank experts.
The trainees got acquainted with structure and daily routine of NIKoil Factoring Division, got answers to all questions on setting up Factoring Divisions in their banks and established close contact with their new partners in NIKoil Bank, which is very important for future teamwork.
The special general meeting of EEFA members was held. During the meeting, the members unanimously voted to comply with the membership application submitted by the “Bank BIG Energiya” (Ukraine). We congratulate our colleagues and wish them a success of all kinds in developing factoring services market in Ukraine.
