1-st EEFA Conference
The first international EEFA Conference titled “Factoring in the Eastern Europe and CIS countries” was dedicated to the business development of factoring companies. It was held at the Marriott Hotel in Moscow on 27-29 June, 2001. Attendees came from 16 countries including the USA, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Byelorussia, Poland, Austria and Belgium.
The important result of the Conference was the creation of the East European Factoring Association (EEFA) with IBG “NIKoil Bank”, Armenian factoring company “Karo-Karen” and Kazakh bank “CenterCredit” as founders.
Most distinguished experts took part in the discussion. The speakers and delegates included Jan Becher (Secretary General of the International Factors Group), Hans-Peter Kellenberger (President of the largest Swiss factoring company Factors AG), Paris Helmut (Vice-President of Factors Chain International), Ted Ettershank (General Manager of Lloyds TSB/Alex Lawrie Factors – one of the largest factoring companies in the UK), De Susanne Gerard (member of the board of directors of Eurofactor – the biggest factoring company in Europe).
